Move from Essentials to Pro, or back, without cancelling: your key, your seat and your settings stay as they are. Your biller prorates the amount against the time you've already paid for.

Your subscription has been changed. To have the app pick it up right away, open File ▸ License… and click “Check now”, next to your key.
Otherwise it will follow on its own at the next launch, or within twenty-four hours if you leave it open.
Cancel
Your subscription ends when the period you've already paid for runs out: nothing is taken back, and the app keeps working until then. No commitment, no notice period.

Why two things
The key alone moves a seat; here it would also allow cancelling and changing plan. The payment email never appears next to the key: together they protect your subscription from anyone who glimpsed your screen.
